From a story perspective, its a great conclusion to the rising hostility in the world throughout all the Far Cry games and how the aggression and death throughout the world finally pushed it over the edge. Plus, the ending song is from Dr. Stranglelove (which has the same ending technically so it is a fun little homage).
I played Far Cry 5 when it came out and loved playing it especially with friends. The mechanics were great, the story was good and fun was had by all. The one ending was neat where you forgave Joseph seed and drove away was a quick and jarring twist but you knew that wasn't the main ending.
